The Alu Star frame weighs 1.5 kg, which is roughly half what the Royal chassis weighs, so it is the one to pick if lifting the trolley into a car boot or up a step is the hard part. The telescopic handle draws out to 111 cm and pushes all the way down again for storage, and the frame is only 40 cm wide, which matters in a narrow hallway or a lift. It carries up to 40 kg.

Sofia takes 43 litres in a 35 × 58 × 23 cm shell that repels rain, and the diamond-stitch pattern with white dots gives it a look closer to a handbag than to a shopping trolley. The lid folds over the opening with a logo button, a zipped pocket runs down the front and a side pocket takes the small things. The bag lifts off the frame in one movement.
