Camp Scandinavia Active X Patella knee support — a ventilating knee support that stabilises the kneecap and reduces pain with knee problems. Camp Scandinavia has built it with an integrated pad and a removable plastic stay that together hold the patella in place, particularly sideways.

Knee support that stabilises the patella during movement

The Active X Patella is an open knee orthosis that you put on with the knee slightly bent. You place the pad against the side of the kneecap where it stops the patella from sliding into the wrong position. You then adjust the four hook-and-loop straps to create the right compression and counter-pressure. You can also take the plastic stay out if you prefer a softer support.

The material is 80 % polyester and 20 % spandex, while the straps and pockets are 100 % nylon. The silicone anti-slip material keeps the knee support in place during activity. The product is latex free and therefore suitable for people with a latex allergy. You machine wash the support at 40 °C — remember to take the plastic plate out first.

Who does the knee support suit?

The Active X Patella suits you who have problems with the kneecap and need stabilising support. The orthosis is particularly suitable with patellofemoral pain syndrome (PFSS), chondromalacia patellae (cartilage wear) and patellar instability after luxation or subluxation.

Choosing the right size

You measure the circumference around the knee across the middle of the kneecap (mid-patella) as shown in the illustration in the image gallery. Some conditions cause swelling that varies, so measure on more than one occasion. The knee support comes in four sizes from XS to L — see the size table under the product facts.

If you are using a knee support for the first time, Camp recommends starting gently. Use it for shorter periods for the first few days and extend the time gradually. The knee support should not be used at night. If irritation or skin problems occur, take the orthosis off and contact your care provider.
