Gastrock Folding Walking Cane Birdeye

Gastrock Folding Cane Birdeye

Gastrock folding cane Birdeye — a foldable travel cane in aluminium with a hardwood derby grip, a burl wood decor and a polished brass ring. You adjust it between 85 and 95 cm and it folds into four sections down to 30 cm.

Burl wood decor and a brass detail

The aluminium shaft carries a burl wood decor in a gloss finish, the pattern known as birdeye, which brings out the natural grain and makes every stick look slightly different. A polished brass ring sits between the derby handle and the shaft and gives the cane a discreet, classic detail. The handle itself is turned in hardwood, so it warms up in the hand instead of staying cold the way a plastic grip does.

The stick folds into four sections on an internal elastic cord and packs down to 30 cm, which fits a handbag or a suitcase. You set the height in steps between 85 and 95 cm on a push button, and the whole cane weighs only 350 g. A rubber ferrule of 18 mm gives grip on most surfaces, and a clear storage case comes with it.

Who is the cane for?

The stick suits you who want a walking aid that packs away when you do not need it, and who prefer a wooden derby handle to a moulded plastic one. Set the height so the handle sits at wrist height when you stand upright with your arm relaxed at your side.
