IQoro neuromuscular training device — a CE-marked Swedish aid for hiatus hernia and reflux that you also use to train away swallowing difficulties and snoring in 30 seconds, three times a day.

How the IQoro neuromuscular training device works

IQoro activates 148 muscles from the lips down to the diaphragm by stimulating important nerves in the mouth. You cannot reach many of these muscles between mouth and stomach in any other way than through the nerve signals in the swallowing process. When you train regularly the muscles therefore grow stronger and your symptoms decrease naturally.

Scientific studies at Swedish universities have shown that the treatment works, and 97 per cent of the participants improved. MYoroface AB manufactures the device in Sweden and it carries CE marking as a class 1 medical device.

How you train with it

You place the device inside your lips and in front of your teeth. Then you press your lips together and pull outwards for 10 seconds, using the lips as resistance. Rest for 3 seconds and repeat, three stretches in total per session. Train three times a day with at least two hours between the sessions.

Cleaning

Rinse the device in running lukewarm water and wash it with a little washing-up liquid after every session. It does not tolerate alcohol-based cleaning agents. If you have had an infection you can occasionally run it in the dishwasher or boil it in water, because it withstands 120 degrees. Regular heating can however shorten the life of the product, and the warranty does not cover damage from repeated heating.

Important information: Do not use the device with neuropathic pain, a paraesophageal hernia or achalasia cardiae. With tinnitus, a whiplash injury or facial paralysis you should start the training carefully. Contact the manufacturer, or your doctor, if you have questions.
