About Mediroyal NRX Long Thumb Orthosis
Mediroyal NRX long thumb orthosis — a soft 2 mm micro-perforated neoprene support with a wide wrist band that holds the thumb in a neutral position, and which you can trim to shape yourself.
Neoprene with a wrist band, cut to fit
The NRX material is a micro-perforated neoprene: it holds warmth in the joint while the perforations let the skin breathe, which is what makes it wearable for a whole day rather than an hour. It has a soft textile face on the inside and a hook-receptive surface on the outside — so you can cut the orthosis to the shape of your own hand without the edge fraying, and put the low-profile hook tab wherever it actually needs to sit.
The wide wrist band steadies the wrist and the thumb together in a resting position, which takes the load off the thumb joint. It comes in a left and a right version and in two sizes: XS/S up to a 17 cm wrist and M/L from 17 cm up. The thumb section is 120 mm and the wrist section 70 mm wide.
