Crossed straps and two plastic stays
The elastic straps cross behind the back, so you set the pull steplessly rather than choosing between fixed positions — as much or as little as the day calls for. Two plastic stays run down the back panel and keep the brace from collapsing into a bundle of straps, which is also what makes it possible to put on and take off single-handed.
