The band carries a pelot that you place over the sore point on the outside of the elbow, so the pressure lands where the tendon attaches rather than around the whole arm. The SRX material adds warmth and compression, and the soft hook-and-loop face on the outside keeps the band from rubbing against a sleeve. You set the tension yourself with the hook-and-loop strap.
