About ResMed Chin Strap
ResMed chin strap — a neoprene strap that holds the jaw closed during nasal CPAP therapy, so the pressure stays where it should instead of escaping through the mouth. It is 157 cm long and washable.
Why a chin strap matters with a nasal mask
If your mouth falls open during the night on a nasal or pillow mask, the air the machine delivers goes straight out again. The pressure at the airway drops, the therapy does less, and the airflow across the mouth dries out the mouth and throat — which is why people wake up parched and assume the humidifier is at fault.
The strap cups the chin and fastens over the top of the head with hook-and-loop, holding the jaw in position without clamping it. It goes over or under the mask headgear on most masks, and the neoprene washes in warm water with a mild detergent.

Who is it for?
