About ResMed Spare Part F20 and F30i Headgear Clips Non-Magnetic

Non-magnetic headgear clips F20 F30i — an original ResMed spare part for your AirFit F20 or F30i full face mask in the version without magnets. The clips belong to the magnet-free mask, which exists for you if you have a pacemaker or implant in your body, or share a bed with someone who does.

Clips for the mask without magnets

Each clip has a slot for the fabric strap and a round hole that you hook onto the mask frame. You thread the worn clip off the lower headgear strap, thread on the new one and then hook it in place – no tools, no adjustment of the headgear. The text NON MAGNETIC is embossed in the plastic, so you can see straight away which version is on the mask when you take it apart for cleaning.

Note that the clips require the mask frame to be the non-magnetic version as well. The magnetic frame holds the headgear with magnets and therefore has nothing to hook onto – so you cannot make a standard AirFit F20 magnet-free just by changing the clips. If you need a magnet-free mask, you change the whole mask or the mask frame.

Who needs clips without magnets?

ResMed states that masks with magnetic clips must not be used if you have an active implant affected by magnetic fields – pacemaker, ICD, neurostimulator, cerebrospinal fluid shunt or insulin pump – or an implant of ferromagnetic material, for example aneurysm clips, stents, heart valves, electrodes, cochlear implants with magnets or metal splinters in the eye. The same applies if the person next to you in bed has any of these. If you or your bed partner have an implant that magnets can disturb, such as a pacemaker, the magnet-free mask is the one to use – and these clips are the spare part for it.

Other parts for the non-magnetic mask

If you also need to change the whole headgear, the AirFit F20 headgear without magnets is available in three sizes. The cushion, however, is the same as on the magnetic mask – ResMed states that the non-magnetic frame fits AirFit F20 cushions in all sizes, so you can use the standard F20 cushion.
