Original silicone cushion in four sizes
ResMed moulds the cushion in soft silicone that takes the contours of the face. The flexible material spreads the pressure evenly around the seal rather than concentrating it at a few points, which is what keeps the leaks down through the night. It is free from latex, PVC and DEHP.
Four sizes are available — XS, S, M and L — and the same cushion fits the Quattro Air, the AirFit F10 and the Quattro Air For Her, so one part number covers all three masks. You change it yourself in seconds with no tools.

When should you replace it?
If you find tears, discolouration, cracks or other damage on the cushion, discard it and fit a new one. Silicone hardens and loses its give with use, and a cushion that no longer follows the face starts leaking however tightly you pull the headgear — which is the point at which people usually assume the mask itself is the problem.
