You bend the metal disc inside the pad and the liquid crystallises at once, giving off heat. The warmth holds for an hour at around 40 to 50 degrees. Once the pad has cooled you drop it in boiling water for about 8 minutes until the crystals dissolve, and it is ready again — up to 500 times. Take care straight after boiling so you do not scald yourself. The pads are small enough for a jacket pocket or a glove.
