The powder-coated steel construction is robust and stands up to daily use at home or in a care setting. A flat frame slides in under the mattress and your own weight holds it down, while a safety strap fastens the rail firmly to the mattress. Two legs reach the floor on rubber feet and carry the load, so the rail does not rest on the bed frame alone.

You set the legs on a push button through a row of holes, which lets you match the rail to bed frames between 30 and 55 cm high. The handle itself is a closed loop covered in foam, and it sits 89.5 to 112 cm above the floor depending on how you set the legs. A fabric pocket with a mesh front hangs on the rail and holds a phone, a book or a glass of water within reach.
