About Night Shift Sleep Positioner
Night Shift sleep positioner — a patented and clinically proven treatment for positional apnoea without a mask, which trains you away from your back with gentle vibrations and gives you sleep reports in the app.
Positional therapy device instead of a mask
You wear Night Shift around your neck or on your chest. The device senses when you roll onto your back and starts to vibrate gently. The vibration then builds gradually until you change position naturally, usually without waking. Because the unit is small, light and quiet, you also take it with you when you travel.
How the positioner works
You fall asleep in whatever position you like, and the device starts to vibrate gently if you then move onto your back. It gives you 15 or 30 minutes to fall asleep before the vibrations switch on. The unit also records your sleep quality, your snoring and how well you respond to the therapy.
Benefits
- Clinically proven with a 90% reduction in time spent on the back
- More than 50% reduction in AHI for 85% of patients
- Gentle vibration feedback that also builds gradually
- App and web portal for sleep reports and sending data to your doctor
- FDA-cleared, with a 2 year warranty on the device
- Battery life of up to 3 nights per charge
Who is this for?
Night Shift suits you with position-dependent sleep apnoea (AHI below 20 when on your side) who are looking for an alternative to CPAP therapy, so it works well if you struggle with masks and tubing. You can also combine the device with a wrist oximeter for screening. See more sleep products in our range, or read about sleep apnoea on NHS.uk.
Step by step
Adjust the strap so it sits firmly enough not to slide around your neck — you should be able to fit two fingers between the strap and your neck. Then place Night Shift at the middle of the back of your neck with the blue label facing outwards, away from the skin, and the power button facing down.
The LED and the vibrations show the battery level:
- 3 green flashes = 3 nights left
- 2 green flashes = 2 nights left
- 1 green flash = 1 night left
- Yellow flash = you need to charge the device
Important: You should not use Night Shift if you have a pacemaker, skin problems on your neck, an extreme neck size (under 30 cm or over 55 cm) or tics.
