The prints run over the derby handle and down the whole shaft. Highland Cattle sets shaggy ginger cattle against a soft heather-purple ground; Black Sheep puts white and black sheep on a spring green field. Both are reproduced from originals painted by hand.
A spring button sets the height anywhere between 73 and 95 cm, which is also what makes it a safe gift — you do not need to know how tall the recipient is. Pushed down it measures 64 cm for storage. The aluminium shaft with its chrome collar keeps the weight at 265 g, the moulded derby handle spreads the load across the palm, and the rubber ferrule is a standard 16 mm you can replace when it wears.
