The clips click into the mask frame’s mounts and hold the headgear straps in place through the whole night. If a clip cracks or loses grip the headgear slides out of place and the mask can leak air. You also swap the clips yourself without tools — press off the old and click on the new. The pack contains two clips, one for each side of the mask, so you have a complete set at swap time.
