Over Gastrock Beech Derby Cane
Gastrock beech derby cane — a solid hand-made cane in home-grown beech with a derby grip, stained in three colours under a silk-matt lacquer.
Derby grip in solid beech
The derby grip rests steadily in the palm. The cane is turned from solid home-grown beech, then sanded, stained and finished in a silk-matt lacquer that brings out the grain rather than burying it under gloss.
It comes with a rubber ferrule for grip on hard surfaces, measures 94 cm, weighs 310 grams and takes up to 100 kg. Gastrock have been making canes by hand in Germany since 1868.

Who is it for?
The cane suits you if you want a solid wooden stick with some character for everyday walking, and a fuller grip than a slim handle gives. It is a fixed length, so choose it by height — the NHS has general guidance on walking aids and setting the right height. See more wooden walking canes in our range.
