iRun Power M-300 – 256Wh CPAP Backup Battery

The iRun Power M-300 CPAP backup battery keeps your therapy running during power cuts and is compatible with ResMed, Philips and Yuwell CPAP machines, packing 256Wh of capacity in lithium iron phosphate cells.

Direct DC power – no inverter losses

Ordinary power banks and power stations run CPAP machines through an inverter, which converts the battery’s DC output to 230V AC and then back to DC inside the machine. Because of this double conversion, part of the energy is lost as heat, and a low-load shut-off can in the worst case stop the machine in the middle of the night. The iRun Power M-300 works differently: it feeds the machine directly with the correct DC voltage – 12V, 15V, 19V or 24V, selectable with the button on top – with no inverter involved. Therefore you get more efficient operation and no risk of an unexpected shutdown while you sleep.

The battery can also charge and deliver power at the same time, so you can leave it permanently connected between the wall outlet and your machine. If the mains fail, the battery takes over automatically and your therapy continues through the night without interruption.

Works off-grid – camping, cabin and boat

A power cut is the most important reason to keep the battery ready, but it is just as useful where there is no wall outlet at all. In a cabin without mains power, in a motorhome, on a boat or at a campsite, you can charge the battery from a solar panel and keep your therapy running. The same unit covers both the unplanned outage at home and the planned trip somewhere off the grid.

How long does one charge last?

Runtime depends mainly on your pressure setting and whether you use a humidifier and heated tube. During an outage the battery lasts longest if you switch off the humidifier and heated tube – the therapy pressure is what matters, and the M-300 then runs for several nights. Approximate figures for a typical CPAP machine:

UsageApproximate runtime
Low pressure, no humidifierAbout 20–22 hours (2–3 nights)
Medium pressure, no humidifierAbout 15 hours (nearly 2 nights)
Humidifier switched onAbout 7 hours (1 night)
Humidifier and heated tube (max)About 5 hours

The figures are guidelines and vary between machines and settings.

65W power adapter included – for the battery and your other devices

A 65W GaN power adapter with an EU plug is included in the package. It is CE marked and works on 100–240V. The adapter has three ports: two USB-C and one USB-A.

When the power adapter charges only the battery, the battery gets full power, 65W. That means you can leave the battery permanently connected between the wall outlet and the CPAP machine and still keep it fully charged, even when the machine runs with a humidifier and heated tube.

The adapter is compact and also works for your phone, tablet and laptop. In a motorhome, at the cabin or as a travel charger, one charger is enough for both the battery and your other electronics. When you charge several devices at once, the power is shared between the ports, for example 45W and 18W across two ports.

Key benefits

  • Direct DC output to the machine with no inverter – reliable backup power during outages without low-load shut-offs
  • 256Wh capacity (80,000 mAh) in long-life lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) cells
  • Charges and delivers power at the same time, so it can sit between the wall outlet and the machine as automatic backup
  • Adapter cables for the most common ResMed, Philips and Yuwell machines included
  • Also charges from a solar panel (10–30V) or USB-C PD (up to 100W) – practical in a motorhome, boat or cabin
  • 65W power adapter included – also charges your phone, tablet and laptop
  • 2-year warranty

Compatible CPAP machines

The iRun Power M-300 is compatible with most CPAP and BiPAP machines with DC input, including ResMed, Philips, Yuwell and BMC, provided the correct adapter cable is used. Supported machines include:

  • ResMed: S9, S10 / AirSense 10, S11 / AirSense 11 (AutoSet, Elite and CPAP) plus AirMini
  • Philips: DreamStation and DreamStation 2
  • Yuwell: YH-550 and YH-680B
  • BMC: G3 series and U/Y/E series

If you have a ResMed AirSense 11, check the label on your power adapter. The standard adapter is 65 W (24V / 2.71A) and works with the battery. Some AirSense 11 and AirCurve 11 machines are instead supplied with a 90 W adapter (24V / 3.75A), and those machines are not supported. If you are unsure, please get in touch with us before ordering.

The included cables cover every machine in the list – ResMed including AirMini, Philips, Yuwell YH-550 and YH-680B, and BMC. You do not need any extra cable.

How sleep mode and automatic wake-up work

The battery has motion- and load-controlled automation rather than a traditional power switch. When the DC/car socket is disconnected, the unit goes into sleep mode and switches off after a while; you wake the battery with a press of the button.
This is a deliberate feature designed for CPAP backup: the battery should be able to “wake up” by itself if the power goes, so you do not have to deal with buttons in the middle of the night.

Because the unit has no hard off switch that fully cuts the power, there are a couple of things worth knowing:

  • In storage: The battery goes into sleep mode but can be woken by a press of the button, which can lead to some self-discharge over time depending on how much it is handled or moved.
  • When travelling: The unit can wake up if the button is pressed in a bag or luggage. Note that this battery (256 Wh) is not allowed on flights, and it is therefore intended for use in a car, motorhome or boat, where this feature matters less in practice.

Who benefits from a CPAP backup battery?

The battery suits you if you want to be sure your therapy is not interrupted when the power goes out, for example during a thunderstorm or a longer outage. It also works as a stand-alone power source in a motorhome, boat or cabin without mains power.
