Reusable gel pack instead of a fridge

You soak the cooling pouch in cold water for 45 to 60 minutes so the gel absorbs the water and spreads it evenly through the lining. Wring out the excess afterwards, then place your insulin pens in the clear poly bag that comes with it and slide the bag into the cooling pouch. The gel then releases the cold slowly, which holds the temperature down for up to four days without any power supply at all.

An outer case in black fabric with the Vitility logo holds the cooling pouch, and a hook-and-loop flap folds over the opening to keep the pens in place. The case measures 11.5 cm wide and 22 cm tall and weighs only 25 g empty, so it slips into a handbag or a jacket pocket. When the gel dries out you simply soak it again — the pouch is reusable, so there is nothing to buy in.
